Brymo Parts Ways With Chocolate City

No City For Carpenters: Brymo Parts Ways With Chocolate City
According to reports on social media, Chocolate City is no longer home to Brymo.
Even though his profile is still on the label’s website as a registered artiste, reports by HipHopWorld indicate contrary.
“Brymo has decided to call it quits with Chocolate City. This latest development occurs barely two months after former label mate Jesse Jagz walked away from the company.
HipHopWorld has it on reliable information that the “Ara” singer officially parted ways with ‘Choc City’ over the weekend; but both parties have managed to keep a lid on the issue until now.
Brymo has been rumored to be not-so-friendly with some members of the Choc family; and apart from the business side of things, it doesn’t seem like ‘The Son of a Kapenta’ will be sorely missed by his remaining label-mates.
Chocolate City now only has M.I and Ice Prince left as its established acts.”
Hmmm. Seems like its transfer season now, with the amount of acts leaving their labels and looking for new
deals.

I can't find the appropriate synonyms. Embarrassing, dehumanizing, debilitating, frustration. Well words can’t describe how much a man who gets a dirty slap on his face after proposing to a woman in public. A lesson to all men. Be sure before you make the moves cos a public show of affection can become a public shame.
This Nigerian man was humiliated at Shepherd's Bush train station by the girl he proposed to and as the photo speaks the man was...humiliated...eyaa sorry to this poor man.
If it were you what will you do?

Davido to Build Schools in Nigeria

Davido
HKN boss and famous pop singer, Davido also called ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ has announced that he plans to build schools in Nigeria, starting from Osun state.
He is just 20 years, yet he looms larger than life. In less than three years of his entry into the music industry, David Adedeji Adeleke has become one of the most celebrated musicians in the country.
Davido, who is known for his generosity recently said in an interview, “I always try to give anytime I see a chance to help or encourage people; I can walk into any restaurant even though I am a star, order a plate of food that is worth N500 and give the seller N50,000. That’s my way of giving back to the society, that’s my way of encouraging the hustle of fellow Nigerians.

Davido Moves About With Bodyguards…Fans Condemn Act

Omo Baba Olowo has been enjoying massive support of the media and his fans in recent times, all thanks to the songs he has been able to reel out.
Aside his musical talent and good looks, his pedigree as a son of a wealthy politician has nailed him as a guy who needs to be cautious of babes who are already going weak for his charisma.
Whenever his presence is announced at any party, babes go wild with excitement and that’s because he has got the swags, charisma, hit songs and above all looks that elicit emotions from his teeming fans.
His presence, no doubts, ignites any gathering and he appeals to both young and old.
Of course it is no longer news that the bodyguards craze has hit the Nigerian entertainment industry, but from the look of things; Davido seems to have joined the trend.
The Damiduro crooner who is the latest sensation in the music industry with his hit singles like “Back when”, “Dami Duro”, “Ekuro” and the latest one “All of You” are currently storming the airwaves is now being wooed by his fans for the security guards he goes around with.
We gathered that the Omo Baba Olowo as he proudly called himself now moves about with bodyguards to avoid close tie or any form of harassment from fans.
We’ve stumbled on the Pop icon at various events with his fierce looking bodyguards recently and with what will observed, his fans were not too cool with his new lifestyles.
According to one of his die hard fans;” We don’t expect this from Davido. We made him a star by buying his album and attending his shows.
We deserved to have a close ties with him and not this humiliating forms of discrimination and ill treatment”. The fans fumed.
Do you think being security cautious is tantamount to arrogance or his fans are just being mischievous?

In the last 15 months, the Nigerian entertainment scene has witnessed more label shakedowns than we could have ever imagined. And the breakup season isn’t over yet…
Rapper Naetochukwu Chikwe better known as Naeto C has ended his relationship with Storm Records, the music home where he launched his career into the Nigerian music market.
NET investigations have revealed that the rapper plans to fully launch hisWKG/Cerious Music label in a matter of months.
Unlike the many breakups that have preceded Naeto’s, the rapper’s exit is not battlemented; both parties have been very silent about the issue. As a matter of fact, Storm Records insist that the rapper is still signed with them.
One of the label’s directors Tola Odunsi admits that Naeto has had his own record label Cerious Music for a while but is still with Storm.
Naeto has had his record label for a while at least 3 years it’s called Cerious Music – his music is being pushed as a joint venture btw storm 360 and Cerious Music. Nothing has changed’, Odunsi responded to our enquiry via E-mail.
Naeto C’s profile is still active on the Storm Records official website but then again, we can’t take that seriously as General Pype (an artiste who has since parted ways with the label) also has his profile on the website.
An inside source however says Naeto has indeed left and his upcoming project will not be released under the Storm Records imprint. One insider said: ‘It is true Naeto started Cerious Music a few years back but the launch of his new outfit WKG (meaning White Kaftan Gang) will see him act fully as an independent artiste.’
WKG kicked off in the middle of 2012 with the launch of his ‘Tony Montana (Bad pass)’ video featuring D’banj. We are told he also plans to sign Lagos producer E-Kelly.
Storm Records was also not listed as one of the organizers of his first ever solo US tour which ran from late March to early May 2013.
Naeto who remains silent on the issue (he refused to reply our E-mail messages) has been busy though: he welcomed his first child while on tour in the US and returned to Nigeria to seal a deal with telecoms company Globacom as an ambassador. Popular artiste manager Godwin Tom also says Naeto is his new client.
Naeto joined Storm Records in 2006, returning from the US where he had already formed a rap group with close friend Ikechukwu and his younger brotherUzikwendu called ‘World Famous Akademy’. With the smash hit single ‘Kini big deal’, he released his debut album ‘You Know my P’ in 2008; parted ways with Ikechukwu who left Strorm in 2010 and then released a successful second album ‘Super C Season’ in February 2011.
Storm Records headed by Obi Asika and Olisa Adibua (the pair are currently in a legal battle) have in the past signed an impressive long list of acts includingJazzman Olofin, Darey, GT the Guitarman, 2shotz, General Pype. They currently have on their roaster rappers Sasha, Yung6ix, Pop singer Ms Jaie, Urban-Pop group L.O.S and gospel singer Tosin Martins.
Afropop singer, Solidstar is in a love relationship with nollywood actress and singer, Tonto Dikeh... This is no rumour as you can tweet at both solidstar (@Solidstarisoko) and Tonto Dikeh (@Tontolet) and they won't deny it says our source. The couple have been dating for about 2 months now...

This is how it all began.
Solidstar has always had a crush on Tonto Dikeh but he didn't know about her also loving his songs, her favourite - Omotena. They hit it off as friends, they hangout at each others crib and when Tonto broke things with her ex, things got speed up and he asked her out, they've been dating for almost 2months now. Solidstar loves her so much that he even goes visiting when she is at a movie location shooting.

They are so fond of each other and you might not know this but Tonto Dikeh is a very loving, jovial and playful person; thats the part of her i have seen when she is with Solidstar.

They also recorded a song together which will be released later in the month. Solidstar recently posted their picture on his instagram page - Calls her "@tontolet cutie of life" and @tontolet replies - "Awwwwww cutie cutie

D’banj‘s quest for dominance in the Nigerian music scene won’t stop now; he might have lost out on signing Olamide and Davido – but he has nicked another artiste, this time a familiar friend-foe.

The self-proclaimed ‘African Michael Jacskon‘, we’ve learnt has signed his friend-turned-foe-turned-friend Oluwadamilare Okulaja better known to the public as Durella.

The move might however not come as a surprise to everyone, considering that Banger Lee (that’s D’banj’s new nickname by the way) and the ‘King of the Zanga’ Durella recently settled their differences. Some weeks back, D’banj and his DB Records crew released a single ‘Ibadi e‘ off their compilation album (D’ King’s Men) which featured a verse from Durella.

Fans were very excited to see the pair had reunited after a very long and well publicized fall out between the pop acts.

Flashback
The beef between Durella and D’banj started in late 2006 when the latter accused Banger Lee of jacking his style of singing. Apparently when D’banj and Don Jazzy returned to Nigeria in 2004, they met up with Durella and soon became friends. Sources tell us that D’banj and Durella were quite close and were spotted together in the studio several times.

‘I remember when Durella followed D’banj, Don Jazzy to Jahborne’s music factory studio when D’banj wanted to record ‘Tongolo’ remix’, a source recounts.

Of course D’banj had blown up and had released his second album ‘Rundown’ in 2007 when Durella signed with TC Records and finally launched his career. It didn’t take long for Durella to blow up too with hits like ‘In da Zanga’, ‘Wiskolowiska’ and ‘Shayo’ gaining massive appeal. He also won the MTV and Zain ‘Advance Warning’ reality show in 2008.

Then came the interviews; Durella clearly stated that D’banj had stolen his style. The media of course jumped on it, comparing both artistes. Truthfully, they did sound very similar. And it seemed like D’banj was aware as he switched up the flow on the 2008 Nigerian Pop classic album ‘The Entertainer’. Their fight sort of fizzled out though as Durella later backed off. ‘D’banj is my man, aaah, I like his mo gbono feli feli jam’, Durella told Onome ‘BigTyme’ Oyaide in an interview on urban radio station Rhythm FM 93.7 in late 2008.

Back to the Matter
We are told that D’banj and DB Records bought out Durella’s contract from his present record labelIKONIC Music where the Pop act’s career has been in limbo since he signed in mid-2011 after ending his three-year contract with TC Records. His upcoming album ‘Back/Better/Bada’ has been pushed back one too many times

‘Durella has signed with D’banj, he (D’banj) bought out the contract, that’s what I can tell you’, a source in Durella’s camp tells us.

Burial of the Nigerian Chinua Achebe

Revered Nigerian writer Chinua Achebe, author of the widely praised novel “Things Fall Apart,” was  buried in his small hometown today on Thursday in a burial ceremony which drew lots of different people alloaver the world.
Achebe, who died in the United States in March aged 82, is viewed as an iconic figure in Nigeria and abroad and his death lead to tributes worldwide.
Achebe: Achebe's first son Ikechukwu, with Governor Peter Obi and Secretary to the FG, Pius Anyim
Achebe: Achebe’s first son Ikechukwu, with Governor Peter Obi and Secretary to the Federation Pius Anyim

•The late Chinua Achebe
Nigerian leaders, foreign dignitaries, fellow writers and the Archbishop of Canterbury were expected to be among those arriving in the town of Ogidi in southeastern Nigeria to pay tribute to Achebe.Achebe was a harsh critic of corruption in Nigeria and twice refused national awards. President Goodluck Jonathan was nevertheless expected to attend the service, according to a source in the presidency.
Ogidi, located in Nigeria’s Anambra state, was decorated with posters of Achebe, while police were stationed throughout the town. A wake was held inside the family compound on Wednesday evening as crowds gathered in the streets.
On Thursday, his private burial on the family compound followed a service at a local Anglican church.
“The death of my uncle is indeed a great loss not only to the family but to Nigeria and Africa as a whole,” 64-year-old Obi Achebe said at the compound on Wednesday evening.
“He has left big shoes that will be difficult to be worn by anybody.”
Achebe had lived and worked as a professor in the United States in recent years, most recently at Brown University in Rhode Island. A 1990 car accident left him in a wheelchair and limited his travel.
Tributes continued to pour in on Wednesday ahead of the burial. Nigeria’s Guardian newspaper dedicated an entire page to a poem written for Achebe by Wole Soyinka, the Nigerian writer and Nobel literature laureate.
Some 2,000 people packed a stadium in the Anambra state capital Awka on Wednesday where Achebe’s coffin was put on display.
While he was known worldwide mostly for “Things Fall Apart,” a novel about the collision of British colonialism and his native Igbo culture in southeastern Nigeria, Achebe also wrote non-fiction that tackled his country’s problems.
Nigeria is Africa’s most populous nation and largest oil producer, but remains severely underdeveloped, held back by corruption and mismanagement.
His work earned him praise from some of the world’s most respected leaders, including Nelson Mandela, who described him as a writer “in whose company the prison walls fell down”.
South African writer and Nobel laureate Nadine Gordimer called Achebe the “father of modern African literature” in 2007, when she was among the judges to award him the Man Booker International prize for fiction.
As well as criticising misrule in Nigeria, Achebe also strongly backed his native Biafra, which declared independence from Nigeria in 1967, sparking a civil war that killed around one million people and only ended in 1970.
The conflict was the subject of a long-awaited memoir he published last year, titled “There Was A Country: A Personal History of Biafra.”
“Things Fall Apart” — his first novel — was published in 1958. The novel, which traced an Igbo tribesman’s fatal brush with British colonialists, has sold more than 10 million copies worldwide and has been translated into 50 languages.
The London Guardian wrote in 2007 that the novel “turned the west’s perception of Africa on its head — a perception that until then had been based solely on the views of white colonialists …”
It has become required reading at many universities in various countries, and Achebe is credited with profoundly influencing a generation of Nigerian writers who followed him.

MR DAVIDO, KING OF HATERS

13
davido-600x541

God pass dem. All the prayers of the celebrities, and their juju almost work. They try their best to no make me appear this week with my big mouth, but God pass them. So my people, I am Amebo Pulse, the great gossiper from the Federal Republic of Amebo., and I come bearing good tidings. No weapon fashioned against me go size me. No prayer directed at me, my website or any of my news sources go work. I full ground scatter.
Last week was horrible for me. All the artistes wise up no be small. No gists came my way, everybody dey form saint. Jim Iyke no gree fight, Tonto Dikeh switch off her singing skills, Yvonne Nelson camera man get accident, 2face still dey honeymoon, Wizkid never give girl public belle (although secret sources dey try whisper to me), Iyanya still dey roll him stiff waist, and Davido…give me sweet gist. Nothing spoil sha. Next week still dey. As long as celebrities exist, they go still dey jones, so Amebo go dey bring am to you. Say Thank you, and let’s go there!

Eberi Actor 1 Of Nollywood
When Tonto Dikeh threw off her comfort cloak of Nollywood and mumu-ishly decided to join the music industry that is as confused as Oshodi bus stop, she had no idea what she was doing. But my guess was all those sycophant wankers on Twitter had given her shitty advice. She spanked her small chest (I know what’s in your mind. Hers are small), and deceived herself saying ‘I knew it!’ She didn’t get advice from professionals like Amebo Pulse, and so she’s swimming in mockery and comical mediocrity of which I’m tired of writing volumes. Tonto honey, I officially divorce you. You are hereby set free from the clutches of Amebo. Congratulations. So run along, miss.
http://cdn.bellanaija.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Timaya-2.jpg
Enter Timaya to take the space that Tonto so ably filled. Instead of staying with those his songs that sound like a remix of Terry G’s madness, the guy wan follow act. Abi your Alaba marketer don breakup with you? I hope not. I love Timaya. There’s something about his mean look, his kpomo lips, fat face, plenty dada (dreadlocks). Na dada jor. I be kpako, I no send you. Girls love Timaya. The fat guy songs dey make their waist wind like indomie around fork. Guys love Timaya, because when the indomie waists dey wind, they go carry their body go join the winding. Sweet Timaya.  Fathers and Mothers love Timaya. Remember he’s the Dem Mama and Dem Papa singer. So clearly everybody loves Timaya, The Eberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa. He’s a national darling.
But before we start recommending him for 2015 senatorial elections, let’s get things straight. Timaya once did some police station time because of his refusal to allow a romantic gift go away with the dead love. He once went to a church where an innocent woman was supposed to get married in peace and caused enough trouble to qualify for Federal Amnesty.
So considering all these things in mind, I was very scared when I saw the picture above. Please refer back to that to that picture and finger the odd one out. His name is Timaya! See how all the others in the picture are all smiling and feeling at home. Then see our Eberi Papa. The guy face dey like say him brain dey sweat. This is because he knows that the laughter reserved for Tonto Dikeh is set to come his way. Imagine what my oga at the top went through. Timaya knows, so he’s having sleepless nights and prayer sessions to deliver him from the movie. But there’s still an opportunity for you to avoid all of that. Just pack your bags and run. Even if you don chop their money clean mouth, still run. But the police will be your friend.
You’ve put yourself in NSCDC’s position, and I don’t envy you. God be with you, because in this one, you can’t shake out your bom bom.

Omotola Congrats Jare
Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, your mama born you well. You are a confirmed daughter of the order of the Niger. GEJ, Take note. Give her an award, or maybe amnesty and pardon. Last week Omosexy broke into the Times 100 Most Influential People on earth, as usual, Nigeria develop epilepsy sharp sharp. Everybody begin dey happy, dey jollof. Una thank you. She don work hard for all of una TV set.

But any soup wey sweet, bad-belle must always try to put too much pepper so that the thing go spoil. Some people, instead of dancing azonto with her and drinking all through the night in celebration of her progress, they actually started hating. See, it is more gracious to give jolly than to catch typhoid fever over the good wey person dey enjoy. No be her fault say you never hammer. No be her fault say she no come from your village wey the winches and winch-men no gree allow you chop clean mouth. She is innocent, you hear? So clap for her and show her some love. That’s how to follow happy, so that when your turn come (that is when those winch people die), we go follow kill goat, or cow, then drink palmie.
Omosexy, we are proud of you. More hustle to your soft muscle.
